A lot of people ask me what is there to do in Townsend? Good question. Tubing down the Little River, horseback riding at one of the riding stables, hiking in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, bike riding on Townsend’s bike path, shopping at one of the many retail stores, searching for original art by one of the many artisans in the area, just driving through the Smoky Mountains and Cades Cove, golfing at Laurel Valley Resort, are just a few of my suggestions. Townsend is a beautiful place to get away from all the hub-bub of daily life, but if you want a little more action, Pigeon Forge is just a 30 minute drive from here. You can have the best of both worlds: the peace and quiet of Townsend and the activity of Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg. Come see us, and of course, we think you should stay at Tuckaleechee Retreat Center!
