Townsend Christmas Parade will be Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011 starting at 2:30 p.m.  The theme is ‘Home for Christmas’.   Come and join the fun.  The parade is always a Christmas highlight.  Townsend Artisan Guild is building a float and will be partnering with the Blount County No Kill Shelter and Three Chics and a Lady (which also supports the Shelter).  This is only one of the floats in the parade.  There will be many others.  See you there!

Once again, our volunteers, both local and out of state, have come to help us get Tuckaleechee Retreat Center spruced up. Every spring and every fall, we invite them to come, and they come! What a blessing! They did a lot of weeding and mulching the flower beds, spring cleaning the cabins, staining the walkways, electrical work, and started building a laundry room for the Steeles, our maintenance man, Jim, and our office assistant, Peggy.
